Wednesday’s Word from the Wise: Secret to Contentment

Have you learned the secret of being content? Don’t worry if you haven’t, there is still time. The sheltered-in-place restriction has not been completely lifted.

The Amplified Bible defines being content as satisfied to the point where you are not disturbed or disquieted (agitated or worried). This season of covid-19 restrictions can teach you many things, but most of all it will teach you a lot about yourself.

Underline the word(s) that best describes your mood during this time; agitated, unsettled, calm, worried, anxious, troubled, mad, satisfied, or content.

How would you think and act differently if you were content? I suggest you start thinking and acting that way. You can do it!

Paul writes, (Php 4) “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or want; for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” (TLB)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 NIV

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV
